OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Ellsworth Baseball/Softball Association (EBSA) is to provide organized baseball & softball programs in the Ellsworth area within program limitations, this program: (1) Does not limit the number of participants, (2) Maintains recreational and competitive programs for the community, and (3) is open to all without regard to their financial status.

The EBSA believes that a healthy, cooperative attitude between the recreational in-town baseball and softball programs and the competitive traveling baseball and softball programs will provide the maximum benefit to both players and the community.

IN-TOWN REC. BASEBALL/SOFTBALL MISSION

The In-town recreational baseball/softball program of the EBSA promotes an educational and instructional program for individuals in the Ellsworth area. The EBSA in-town programs promote full player participation for authority, together with the instruction in baseball/softball rules, skills and the element of play. Coaches will try to ensure and encourage equal participation, playing time and player position rotation. If there is a player safety concern, coaches will then error on the side of safety (example: can the player safely protect themselves from a line drive hit).

TRAVELING COMPETITIVE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL MISSION

The traveling competitive baseball/softball program of the EBSA strives to promote the highest level of competitive baseball/softball play, while attracting highly skilled players who have the desire, determination, dedication and discipline necessary to improve their skills. The traveling competitive program goals; (1) Provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning the game, developing skills and results in a positive experience for participants, (2) To provide the most competitive opportunities and field the best possible teams within an enjoyable environment, (3) Field the best players for teams to each competitive level, (4) Promoting the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship, and (5) Coaches will make every effort to ensure all players with playing time, but playing time and or equal paying time will not be guaranteed.
