INFO and MISSION

Ellsworth Summer T-Ball is put on by the Ellsworth Funsters and is a BEGINNING level program designed for Children ages 4-Kindergarten. Children age 3 ½ can sign up if the parent feels they are ready, and if they can keep attention on the game. If the child is 3 ½ the parents must be willing to help them . Any child under the age of 3 ½ or has completed 1st grade will not be accepted. This is for safety reasons.

Ellsworth Summer T-ball has players hit the ball off a tee with all players batting each inning, and all runners will “score” including the last batter. All players will play in the field with no particular position or set of rotation. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child. This is a non-competitive league designed to introduce the basics of baseball like running bases, hitting, catching (or trying to). Players do not get “out”. If your child is pre-K or Kindergarten and is ready for a more competitive type of play he/she should sign up for baseball (boys) or softball (girls). T-ball is a great way for the pre-school aged kids to get to know some of the other kids they will be going to school with in the next year or so. We try to put kids together with others in the same school they plan to attend so they may have a friend when they get to kindergarten.

Our patient volunteer coaches and assistant high school volunteer coaches help the kids stay safe and have fun while learning how to play. Please consider volunteering to coach your childs t-ball team!! It is great fun and the kids love it when their parent is the coach! Parents of children age 3 ½ (under 4) must help coaches by helping with their 3 ½ year old so the coach can focus on keeping the rest of the team safe.

T-Ball starts normally the 2nd week of June and runs 6 weeks with the Monday over the 4th of July off. There is an optional picture night added in, and a Hot Dog/Chip picnic put on by the Ellsworth Funsters on the very last night of play. See the registration form link on top right of this page to get enrolled.

The Ellsworth Funsters are committed to providing a safe and fun experience while introducing the game of baseball to these pre-school aged youth. The emphasis is placed on safety, combined with incorporating the importance of social skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship starting at a very young age.
